Computers for Kids

Computers for Kids is a voluntary project of the Hal-Com team. We donate our expertise in the network environment to set up computer labs for underprivileged children. Our philosophy is that we will set up a computer lab using older equipment that can be purchased for next to nothing or even donated for free and then run on those machines the most cost effective software we can find (Linux). The results are a network of computers using the latest free software that would make any CIO jealous of what was accomplished for the price paid. We want to make it clear to any organization choosing to use Hal-Com/CFK that we are donating our time and consulting expertise not actual software and hardware. That being said, there is a whole world of free equipment and software that we can make work very well for you. What could cost an organization in the $75,000.00 range we can do for under $2,000.00. We handle all the work for you, from the planning stages to teaching an on- site administrator how to handle simple troubleshooting. Please contact us to schedule a demonstration of an operating computer lab. We will be happy to donate our time for any worthwhile cause.
